I have always had to use the internet and email as a way of connecting with many people nationally and internationally. It’s amazing that you can talk to people all over the world instantly no matter where you are. I am extremely grateful for this way of doing networking because any other way for me would have been impossible.
Business breakfasts, lunches or dinners have always been out of my budget as a single parent trying to raise three children. Time was always limited due to having to work up to three jobs at times, and at the end of a long day, going home, cooking dinner, doing the washing and cleaning up was the aim before falling into bed for a few hours before it started all again.
Somehow amongst all the chaos of a single parent life I kept my business going, clawing inch by inch to make the treasure (goals) I carried come to fruition. There has been extreme lows through frustration, however there has also been amazing highs. And as I reflect and look at my children I am one proud parent. I believe I have delivered into this chaotic world three incredible human beings who all have giving and loving hearts, who respect others and have common sense, who love to help, and will be their own world changers in different incredible ways.
As for my business I took at step of faith in March with my 16 year old daughter and we headed for Laos. My daughter had to push me to step out because of my fundamental reasoning as a parent to have all the T’s crossed and the I’s dotted. For her I can now see that travelling and giving people joy all over the world is in her veins and heart; and I don’t think she will be happy without these two things in her life.
So we saved, stayed with an amazing and generous friend, and then stepped out to arrive in Laos. We have seen incredible things happen in our own journey in a country where a 1/3 of the population is living below the international poverty line (less than $1.25 per day), has the lowest annual income in the world, is the 25th most hungriest nation in the world, and has 6.2 million people.
We are now giving back and creating sustainability, and again I am reminded of how precious the internet is for networking. As we help elephants and build on conservation I am again networking internationally, but this time because I am in a country far removed from much that is in first world countries.
I am seeking interest and communication partnerships with International Zoos, I am asking for volunteers to get amazing conservation initiatives off the ground, I am marketing to help bring in more tourists, I am researching everything and anything, and I am publishing some of my journey to share.
So all in all I would like to thank the likes of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs and the many others who have helped pave the computer age to where it is today. I couldn’t have done most of what I have done without your programs, formulas, software and equations. ?
