After travelling through Africa and South America Jodi’s passion for conservation through active involvement grew stronger and reached new heights. Having already completed a degree in Marine Biology, with Honours in Marine Parasitology she moved her focus from marine, to marine and terrestrial projects worldwide.
She followed her passions to new and exciting places, spending the last few years working with a variety of not for profit organizations including FaunAgua in Bolivia, Naankuse in Namibia, Turtle Monitoring groups throughout Queensland, and Parks Australia on Christmas Island, and has recently won the Vodafone World of Difference for her work as project officer with Reef Check. In addition to this, she has also spent two consecutive seasons as the volunteer coordinator of the marine conservation program for All Out Africa, in Mozambique, looking at Whale Sharks, Marine Turtles and Manta Ray populations, the illegal poaching of these animals, and working on solutions such as education, awareness, and employment campaigns.
Over the last couple of years Jodi has also been working closely with Earth FX International in Australia and Zambia, establishing ideas, contacts and working relationships for the upcoming projects, which includes building an Wildlife Hospital, rebuilding a sanctuary and establishing the new volunteer program, amongst others things.
Jodi’s passion and dedication to wildlife, their causes and the ability to understand and work closely with local communities, and volunteers helps give Earth FX International the ultimate edge to the future. She is excited to be part of this amazing team, and is looking forward to seeing this project reach fruition in the near future.
